Sports betting, as the name suggests is placing a wager on an expected sports outcome. Since it is a form of gambling, sport betting is illegal in many states in U.S. However, in many European countries it is legal to accept sports wagers under certain regulations. In U.S., wherever it is allowed, sport betting is usually done through a bookie or through various online outlets that perform the function of a bookie.
There are various types of bets in sports betting. The main ones include proposition bets, straight bets, teasers, if bets, goal line or run line bets, parlays, and many more.
Proposition Bets
These are wagers made on specific outcome of a competition or match. For instance, it could be correctly predicting the number of goals the two teams are going to score in a football match, or predicting the number of hits a player is going to do in a baseball game.
